Jeanne d'Arc is a cameo flashback character in the 2006-2007 light novel series Fate/Zero (as well as its 2010-2017 manga & 2011-2012 anime television series adaptations of the same name), the deuteragonist of the 2012-2014 light novel series Fate/Apocrypha (as well as its 2016 manga & 2017 anime television series adaptations of the same name), and a playable character in the 2015 turn-based tactical role-playing mobile game Fate/Grand Order. She is voiced by Maaya Sakamoto in the Japanese version of the anime and by Erika Harlacher in the English version, the latter of which also voices Elizabeth Liones in Seven Deadly Sins, Shinobu Kocho in Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba, Violet Evergarden in the show of the same name, and Kurapika in Hunter x Hunter. Subsequently, a specter of Jeanne could now be summoned as a warrior servant by a mage through a special ritual. After her death, Jeanne became a Heroic Spirit immortalized by the Throne of Heroes. Eventually, the Catholic church canonized Jeanne as Saint Joan of Arc. The death of Jeanne drove Gilles mad he eventually began murdering children in an attempt to prove that God had abandoned humanity. In response to this request, Jeanne threw away her life as a simple peasant to fight in God's name. When she was a teenager, Jeanne claimed to have received a command from God Himself to fight for the improvement of mankind. Jeanne was born as the daughter of two peasants in the small French rural village Domrémy.
